Some cross-border trade between Pakistan and Iran has resumed after Pakistan suspended cargo traffic at the Gabd-Rimdan and Taftan crossings in Balochistan on October 17, citing security risks.

A Gwadar Chamber of Commerce official said trade partially resumed over the weekend, with customs clearing consignments dated October 16 or earlier. Several hundred LPG trucks reportedly crossed into Gabd, and the reopening is expected to ease a nationwide LPG shortage.

Iran's ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam says changes to Pakistan's E-Form import paperwork are still leaving Iranian cargo stuck. Pakistan says the closure was purely security-related.
