Lahore ranks world’s second most polluted city as smog returns

Lahore ranked second among the world's most polluted major cities on IQAir's live tracker on Monday, with an air quality index of 199.

Fine particulate matter, PM2.5, was the main pollutant. Readings varied widely across Punjab, from 210 in Pakpattan to 35 in Nankana Sahib.

Dry weather is expected to continue, with Lahore's daytime temperature between 29 and 31°C and no rain in sight to clear the air.
