Humayun Saeed calls for Pakistan’s own OTT platform to take dramas global

Actor and producer Humayun Saeed has urged Pakistan to build its own streaming platform so local dramas can reach audiences worldwide and draw the interest of international platforms such as Netflix.

"We do have our own style," he said, adding that he was unsure when Pakistani productions might reach Netflix. He pointed to the growth of streaming in India as a model and asked the government to give the industry more support.

The debate has been lively this month: actor Urwa Hocane recently said Pakistani dramas don't need Netflix, while Saeed noted that local dramas still struggle to produce the edgier content streaming platforms look for.
