WAPDA signs Rs133bn contract for Diamer-Bhasha Dam equipment

The Water and Power Development Authority has signed a Rs133 billion contract for the Diamer-Bhasha Dam project.

The contract covers hydro-mechanical equipment and steel structures, which include the gates and other heavy steel works needed to control water flow at the dam.

Diamer-Bhasha on the Indus River is one of Pakistan's largest water storage and hydropower projects.
